Reading comprehension practice for primary school
Real comprehension skills rather than quizzes: children read, think, and answer questions that build understanding stage by stage.
Four reading skills
Each skill has its own ladder of fifty stages.
- Fiction
- Non-fiction
- Vocabulary in context
- Inference
Common questions
What is inference in reading?
Working out something the text does not say outright, using clues from the words. It is one of the main comprehension skills tested in primary school.
Can younger children use it?
Yes. There is a free read-aloud toggle that helps younger children who cannot yet read fluently take part independently.
